Coaching Code of Conduct 2017
The appointed coaches of the Greensborough Junior Football Club will;
– Hold a current AFL Level 1 Coaching certification
– Hold a current “Working with Children” card
Throughout their role as coach they will always abide by the following values;
– There will be zero tolerance to any form of racial vilification.
– There will be zero tolerance to any form of abusive language from the coach or from anyone within the coach’s box.
– There will be zero tolerance to any form of bullying, including between the players or directed at any of the players.
– Bumping or wrestling more than 40 metres from the ball and sling tackles will not be tolerated.
– Welcome and encourage the participation of female players at all allowable age levels.
– To teach and encourage players regardless of their abilities.
– To actively encourage and promote the participation of representative football.
– To actively encourage the shaking of the oppositions hands after the game regardless of what may have transpired during the game.
– To start and finish training on time and to the agreed training timetable.
– Coaches will attend all pre-season coaching meetings when held.
– Coaches will attend mid-season coaching meetings when held.
– Coaches will adhere to the game time rules of;
– Every player plays at least 3 quarters in age groups U/9 through to and including U/13
– Every player plays at least 2 quarters in age groups U/14 through to and including U/17
– Team medic / first aider will have final authority to withdraw a player from the field or rest of the match for injuries including suspected concussion.
– Concussed players will not return to training / matches without a medical clearance.
Note: There will be no exceptions to these rules unless discussed with and agreed to by the coach(es) and the parents. This includes all home and away and finals games
